Discover the Area Around Nomade Villas
One of the greatest advantages of staying at Nomade Villas is its peaceful location in the heart of South Corfu. While the villas offer privacy and uninterrupted Ionian Sea views, everything you need is just a short walk or drive away. Traditional villages, local tavernas, beautiful beaches, historical landmarks and authentic Corfiot life are all waiting to be discovered.
Agios Ioannis Peristeron takes its name from the historic Monastery of Saint John the Baptist (Agios Ioannis), which once stood in the area and played an important role in the religious life of southern Corfu. Although only parts of its history remain today, the monastery gave the settlement its identity and remains an important part of the area's heritage.
Whether you wish to enjoy a morning swim, a leisurely lunch by the sea or simply experience the relaxed rhythm of a traditional Corfiot village, Agios Ioannis Peristeron is only a pleasant walk from the villas.

Agios Ioannis Peristeron – A Seaside Village Full of Charm
Just 600 metres from Nomade Villas lies the picturesque seaside settlement of Agios Ioannis Peristeron.
Despite its small size, the village offers everything visitors need for a relaxing holiday.
Here you will find:
Two supermarkets for daily essentials.
Three traditional restaurants serving fresh seafood and authentic Corfiot cuisine.
A quiet pebble beach with crystal-clear waters.
Water sports facilities for visitors looking for a little more adventure.

Stroggili – A Traditional Corfiot Village
On the opposite side of Nomade Villas, only 800 metres away, is the traditional village of Stroggili.
Hidden among olive groves and narrow village streets, Stroggili preserves the authentic atmosphere of old Corfu. It is an ideal place for a peaceful stroll, offering visitors a glimpse into everyday island life away from the busy tourist resorts.
One of the village's most remarkable landmarks is its centuries-old tree, which has stood at the heart of the community for generations and has become a symbol of the village itself.
Stroggili is also closely connected with one of Corfu's most celebrated literary figures, Lorenzos Mavilis Markoras (Markoras), whose family originated from the area. The renowned Corfiot poet and writer Andreas Markoras (1830–1911) lived in Stroggili and became one of the leading representatives of the Ionian School of literature. His work remains an important part of modern Greek literary history and reflects the cultural richness of 19th-century Corfu.
Today, Stroggili combines history, tradition and the peaceful character that makes the villages of South Corfu so special.
